Gene and special guest cohost Curt Collins present David Marler, who has had a lifelong interest in the UFO subject and has actively investigated and researched the subject for 32 years. He joined The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in 1990 as a Field Investigator Trainee. Since then, he has served as Field Investigator, State Section Director, as well as Illinois State Director. During his tenure with MUFON, he had conducted numerous investigations into alleged UFO sightings and related experiences. Evidence of his historical research is his acclaimed book, Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation. Here, he has provided a comprehensive analysis of triangular UFOs. He has collected, collated, and analyzed hundreds of reports. In the process, he has created a detailed profile of these objects and written a rich narrative of their history.

0:32.0	So ahead of our discussion with David Marler and our guest co-hosts Kurt Collins. I was reading the other day
0:39.2	about the death of someone who's had a connection to the UFO field. Douglas Trumbull, the very
0:43.6	famous special effects artist. He worked on 2001 Space Odyssey, Star Trek, the motion picture.
0:51.8	But really weird here is that in the 1980s,
0:54.6	he kind of got out of the business
0:56.1	because he was working on the film, I believe, called Brainwashed.
1:00.6	And one of the stars, Natalie Wood, died in some kind of weird boating accident.
1:08.2	I guess that freaked him out.
1:10.6	You know, of course, there's a lot of questions one could
1:12.4	have asked, but anyway, Douglas Trumbull is dead, I think, at the age of 79. Is that correct,
1:17.2	Kurt? That sounds about right. Yeah, it's a huge loss. And so he was involved in some
1:23.9	UFO research, a photographic plan.
1:29.9	I don't, I think Mark Dan Antonio was in on that also.
1:36.1	I think that may have stalled out, but it was a great, great effort.
1:40.1	We had Mark on the powercast a few years back.
1:43.3	On that project, that's one of many attempts over the years to photograph UFOs
1:50.8	or detect them in some way.
1:52.7	And of course, we've got some modern efforts to that, the Project Galileo.
1:58.4	That's all I had to say on that.
