Okay, Ralph, we were talking briefly before we got started, and welcome to the show.

And you were mentioning you got started working as a journalist back in 1963 in Texas, how did that happen?

Well, I had finished at City College of New York.

I finished in the off year because I stayed an extra semester to edit the college paper.

So I had some time on my hands before I was starting at Columbia Journalism School.

So I went down to Texas to look around and ended up getting a job at a small suburban

paper called the Grand Prairie Daily News Texan, part of a chain.
