Chris, how's it going?

Hi, Steve. Good to be here. In this episode, we hear about what life is like in captivity for Frank

Carson. We will also hear about other people charged in the case and their experience behind bars.

What was that like for Carson and the others? Well, he says that it's extremely cold. One of the things

his clients had told him over the years was how cold it was in the cells in Stanislaus County now. He

experiences it himself. He's held in a solitary cell. Whenever he's ushered into a room to confer

with his lawyers at this point, he is shackled up.

And one of the early disputes is about whether he can get one hand free to hold a pencil,

to turn pages and write with a pencil and assist with his defense.

That becomes one of the issues early on in the case.

And at some point, they go before a judge for a bail hearing, and there's quite a bit of back

and forth. Yeah, there's a bail hearing on August 25, 2015. This is a couple weeks after the

arrests. Carson and his wife are there before a visiting judge, whose name is Socrates Manukian. And
