Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today is November 1st, a feast of all Saints.

This is the day we are reminded that God created every human to share his divine life and become a saint.

And the only thing that can prevent this from happening is if we refuse to choose it and cooperate with the grace of God.

God gives all the grace necessary to each person to bear fruit in two ways.

First, with the life of virtue and holiness, and second, through family and friendship to lead others to faith.

I was reflecting upon this when I was in Jerusalem. In Matthew chapter 21 on Monday morning of Holy Week

which culminates in that Good Friday with the death of Jesus on the cross. He is returning from Bethany to Jerusalem

where he spent the night at the home of his friends Martha, Mary, and Lazarus.

As he passed by Bethphage on that Monday morning on the top of the Mount of Olives, he felt

hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road he went up to it and found nothing on it but leaves.

And he said to it, may you never bear fruit again.

And at that instant the fig tree withered and died.

Jesus rendered judgment upon the fig tree and it died. The tree was busy, busy making leaves, but it was

not bearing the fruit he expected. God expects us to bear fruit in two ways. First,
