My name is Carlotta Allen.

In 2005, I began attending New Covenant Community Church,

an Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Joliet, Illinois.

It's about 45 minutes south of Chicago.

I remained at this church for 18 years until May of 2023.

Prior to New Covenant, my church background was in the charismatic, broadly evangelical world.

While I was still in my previous charismatic church, I became aware of what is called the doctrines of grace,

which goes hand in hand with the five solas of the Protestant Reformation.

I know this is not familiar to everyone, but the five solas describe basically the essential

components of the Christian faith.
