So I'm back from vacation. I had a nice two-week vacation in Hawaii. I don't know, maybe a little tan.

Got this nice little shirt, feeling very relaxed. Back in San Francisco Francisco now back in our temporary apartment in

San Francisco. I have one more month here in San Francisco and then we return

home to Japan.

Now today's show is about fear, the fear of mistakes.

I want to talk about this topic because it is the main fear that paralyzes English speakers.

The paralyze means you can't move. And often when people try to speak

English, they get partial paralysis.

That means it's difficult to move.

Specifically, their throat gets a little tight

and, ah, ah, and it seems like their brain sort of stops

working a little bit.

Maybe you've had this problem.

I can remember I was in Guatemala several years ago. And I was in Guatemala with my wife and we went there

specifically to study Spanish for a couple of weeks. We lived with the host

family so this was an opportunity to talk to a family of Spanish speakers.

I had studied Spanish a bit in high school and university.
