About 20 years ago or so the Lord began to teach my wife and I to study and practice what he said in Matthew chapter 18 versus 19 and 20.

Now, of course, known as the prayer of agreement.

I have to tell you at the outset so you understand, I do not know

everything to be known about this. So you know, to this day, I still don't. So let me read it for you.

If two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

In context, this promise comes after ensuring that we must come clean with God and with man.

In other words, there has to be purity of motive before we can pray this prayer

of agreement and claim the promises that are here. There has to be purity in the desire to pray

according to the will of God for His honor and for his glory, not for our own vanity.

I'm aware of the fact there are some preachers they wave this promise, this prayer of agreement,

like a magic wand. Just any of you agree on something. Agree on something, anything.

Even if it's against the will of God, even if it's contradicting to the word of God.

Just agree on anything.

No, that's not what that promise is all about.

In fact, it's exactly what turned me off from even studying or claiming that promise to myself.

But then I realized in my own heart, just because someone abuses the scripture, it's not a reason for me to ignore it and not take it to heart and believe it

as the word of God and trust it completely. Then one day I went on studying 1 Peter chapter 3 verse 7, where the word of God said, through

Peter, that unity between a husband and wife could really bring about answers to prayer.

In fact, the word he uses, lest your prayer, if that unit is not there, he said, lest your prayer be hindered.

That took me to a comprehensive study of what this whole principle of unity in the scripture,

what is this all about? And I began to look at the scripture from beginning to end.
