This is a special bonus episode of the Bill Bitted podcast I'm Claude Jennings at Utah State University in Logan, Utah.

0:10.0

I'm at a satellite conference, small sat 20-22, doing some media work here, but Bill and I had to connect to do a mini episode,

0:18.0

getting his thoughts on the FBI raid, a former President Trump's place there in Mar-a-Lago.

0:24.0

I want to share those thoughts. We're going to have a full episode of the podcast, of course, that we're going to release Friday.

0:29.0

And if anything else happens, we want to do more mini episodes, just serious thoughts. Get it out there. Feel free to email Bill Bitted podcast at gmail.com.

Here's Bill's thoughts on the FBI raid, a former President Trump.

0:41.0

Well, Claude will discuss this, but I'm thinking we might have hit a major crossroads for our country and our culture.

0:49.0

1:03.0

that the feds had reason to believe he had in his possession, that he would not give up to them either voluntarily or by subpoena.

1:12.0

1:22.0

1:32.0

But I'd like to talk to the broader picture of what this means. If this is not the case, if there is not some very good ground to believe that he is holding back something very, very suspicious, wrong, terrible.

1:47.0

Then this overreach by the Justice Department suggests to me, as I said at the beginning, a crossroads.

1:53.0

The belief that, on their part, Justice Department FBI Director Turnie General, that the culture is such that they are justified in taking steps against this President,

2:05.0

because he is a noxious presence and his supporters are as well.

2:09.0

The belief that if you are a Trump person, Trump himself or a supporter, you are illegitimate.

2:16.0

You do not have standing. You do not have as normally afforded to Americans rights and privileges equal to anyone else.

2:25.0

You have delegitimized yourself and your point of view and your citizenship by holding to this.

2:31.0

Consider the media as characterization of Trump and Trump supporters. Wingers, white supremacists, an addicts, crazies, people who rated the Capitol and so on.

2:41.0

The point here is to delegitimize an entire point of view and almost an entire political party.

2:49.0

If so, we are a very long way from what Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson once wrote.
