I'm Peter Ernest, the Executive Director of the Museum. I served for some 36 years

in the Central Intelligence Agency, largely as what is called an operations officer or a case officer.

Every month will be bringing you interesting talks

with visitors, with authors, and with others

who have something to do with the world of intelligence

and espionage.

Today we're continuing. world of intelligence and espionage.

Today we're continuing our focus on Robert Hanson, the FBI special agent who cooperated

with the Soviet Union and later Russia for a period of some 20 years and was eventually

discovered, apprehended, arrested, tried, and sent to jail for the rest of his life.

And this look at Hanson has been occasioned in part by the movie Breach, which has come out just

recently.

And we think that by using that movie as one peg to look at, we can take a look back at Hanson and then look at the extent to which the movie might reflect or not reflect who and what

Hansen was and what he was about. And with me today is David Major and David

Major is a retired special agent of the FBI.

And he was, for a period of time,

Robert Hanson's supervisor, as well as a colleague.

He was aware of Hanson. And so we'll be taking a look at

Hansen and at some point we'll look and see the extent to which the movie

reflects the reality or not of Robert Hanson.
