Welcome to the Awesome Marriage podcast. I'm Neil Smith and I'm joined by Dr. Kim Kim, on Man Week on the podcast. And we today are talking about

fatherhood and what makes a great father. So Dr. Kim, what makes a great father? It's such a good question, because I think

all of us as dads want to be good dads. Now I want to be a great granddad to my kids. I really

had a good model in both those areas. And I think when I looked at that question, I thought,

you know, what I saw in that, my dad and my granddad's both loved me unconditionally.

I mean, yes, they wanted to teach me and train me, but I felt like they accepted me right

where I was and then were there to come alongside me to help me grow, to teach me, to direct me, to

train me the way I should go. And I think the fact that I didn't feel like they were, oh, my gosh, you're messed up.

I got to change you as opposed to I love you just as you are.

And here's some things for you.

It was huge.

So spent for a great follow of what I saw, they spent time with me.

My dad spent time with me.

He taught me the right thing.

He taught me about, you know, I saw

his faith lived out. I saw my granddad's faith lived out, which made that a very attractive

to me because I saw it made a difference in their lives. And what I saw saw, they were both great

husbands. And I think that was a huge part of being a good father is to let their kids know, this woman
