We're bombarded with messages every day, everybody, regardless of size and gender

and wherever they come from, we're all bombarded with these images and

advertisements about how we should be and exercise and

I, I deliberately intentionally want unlikely hikers group hikes to be a safer space from negative self-talk

and also from the negative self-talk and also from the idea of good bodies and bad bodies and good

habits and bad habits and you know to also even put a lens on what we decide as as fit and unfit because I don't

think fit is a look or a body type just to sort of foster a sense of embodiment.

This is Jenny Bruso and because this is a podcast and you can't see her

she wanted me to let you all know that she's fat, queer, and fem.

Jenny's work is rooted in her belief that there is room for everyone on the trail. At this point you can find her origin story pretty easily online.

Her social media platform, unlikely hikers, really took off when the Huffington Post picked up a feature on Jenny in July of 2017.

And in certain ways, this growth has been humbling.
