Barbara Morgan is a member of a very small club whose members have rocketed into space at unimaginable speeds. She was the

backup candidate for NASA's Teacher in Space Project behind Krista McAuliffe, who

died in the Challenger disaster in 1986.

Barbara Morgan herself blasted off on a shuttle mission in 2007,

and during a presentation to an audience a few years ago,

she described what that feeling was like.
