I'm Tasha Robinson, here with Keith Phillips and Genevieve Katsky. Our co-host, Scott Tobias, is currently out on the road because he heard a rumor that all the other Scots of the world have been driven into the ocean. In his place this week, due the pairing we have in mind, we're calling in a special guest, John Marr,

cultural writer-extrinaire, a writer and editor at Publishers Weekly, the co-founder of the late

lamented website, The Dotma Line, and one of the biggest animation fans we know. Welcome to the

Just a little preview for you there. American movie theaters are in even more of a state of

flex right now than they have been since the beginning of the pandemic. Some states are

reopening and trying to return to business as usual, while some theaters are closing down

permanently. For now, we're still sticking to quarantine. Pairing films you can find on VOD, cable television, or streaming services. This week, we're focusing on a pair of fantasy creatures that are the absolute last of their kind in the entire world. Well, actually... Okay, you know we all hate that phrase, Keith. Yeah, but it's kind of significant here. Neither of the fantasy animals in this week's pairing are actually the last of their kind.
