Hello kids, this is Risk, the show where people tell true stories. They never

thought they dared to share. I'm Kevin Allison and this is Havon Lar Alemmy. Behind me now,

my granddad used to say there's no Alemmy, like a Havon Lar Alemmy. And it's all

too apropos that I mentioned granddad because today's episode is called Family

Secrets. And this week that we gather with our families to give thanks. Here are

three stories about how surprising life can be when you're linked to others in just a bit.

We're going to hear from Christine Lee and Episcopal Priest in New York and

absolutely lovely woman who took one of our workshops in storytelling at the

StoryStudio.org. But before that, we're going to hear from the Bay Area-based

storyteller, Mr. Josh Healy, who told this story at the Mill Valley Library over

there in the Bay Area and sent us the recording. So here's Josh Healy now. The

So this is a story about the first time I ever helped an 86-year-old with her

medication. If there's anything in the world that's more awesome than a

little old grandma, it's a little old grandma in law, which is what I have. My

wife's grandma Phyllis. Now Grandma Phyllis, she stands about five-foot-one on a

good day. She has bleached blonde hair, deep-ten and wrinkles from her yearly

trip to Hawaii. She lives in San Jose by herself and she loves to talk liberal
