Sometimes we might not receive love in the way we want it, but it can be important to recognize it when it is offered, even though it comes up a lot of times in really unusual forms, and it's not the forms that I want but I can see that it is

there.

Welcome to episode 54 of the recovery show. We are friends and family members of alcoholics and addicts who have found a path to

serenity and happiness. We who live or have lived with a seemingly hopeless problem

of addiction understand as perhaps a few others can. So much depends on our own attitudes and we

believe that changed attitudes can aid recovery. In our book how Al-Anon works in

the discussion of step one it says we may never have the family of our dreams. Well what is the

family of your dreams? How does your family fall short of your dreams? What if you

tried to do about it? How has recovery helped you to relate to your family, whether the family of origin, family of choice, or recovery family?

Yes, today we're going to talk about the family of our dreams.
