Summary

0:15.0	So guys, today, oh my God, the case that word me talking, I can confidently say, has just had my head spinning.
0:23.9	This case is just riddled with family drama and dysfunction and lots and lots of finger pointing.
0:31.9	Today we're going to be talking about the murder of Gary Ferris, who is a father of four, a very well-loved man. He was known as
0:41.5	Big Daddy, which I will explain. And you may have heard this case referred to as the Ferris Wheel,
0:47.7	which is the name that their family is not all that fond of, but that is definitely what the
0:52.9	media has dubbed it. We do have a lot to
0:55.6	go over. This one is quite complicated. Like I was saying, we're going to be talking about Gary Ferris,
1:00.6	and he was born on June 27, 1960 in Tuscumbia, Alabama to his parents, Betty and Gene,
1:07.4	along with his three younger siblings, John, Patricia, and Sherry. Now, he was a lot of things,
1:12.0	but one thing that really stood out to me was just how everyone spoke about his work ethic and his
1:17.6	drive. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Alabama and his
1:22.5	jurist doctor degree from the University of Alabama Law School. And while there, he was the editor
1:27.3	and chief of the Alabama Law Review. And on top of that, like I mentioned in the University of Alabama Law School. And while there, he was the editor-in-chief of the
1:28.1	Alabama Law Review. And on top of that, like I mentioned in the beginning of the episode, he was a
1:32.8	husband and a father. And he and his wife actually met when they were just teenagers. And her name is
1:38.7	Melody. And by his sophomore year in college, the two of them were married and pretty quickly
1:42.8	had their first child. Now, Chris was their firstborn son, but he was followed by three more kids, Scott, then
1:49.4	Emily, and then Amanda. And while Melody was home with the kids, Gary was at the office. After graduating,
1:55.8	he first joined the law firm Burr and Foreman as a commercial real estate attorney in Birmingham.
