Hello and welcome back to the director's cut, brought to by the Directors Guild of America.

Today's episode takes us behind the scenes of director Vigo Mortensen's new drama, Falling.

Mr. Mortensen also stars in the film as John, a gay man who lives with his partner and their adopted daughter in Southern California.

When he is visited by his aging conservative father, who is searching for a place to retire,

their two very different worlds collide.

Falling is Mr. Mortensen's directorial debut.

Mr. Mortensen spoke with director Matt Ross about filming falling in front of a virtual audience.

So we're here to discuss your film falling. You and I, obviously, we know each other.

We've known each other for some years since Captain Fantastic. I don't know what to assume in terms of people having seen the film or not seen the film.

So I think the best thing to do is just sort of have a not spoiler-free.
