Welcome to this bedtime story from Abide,

a bedtime meditation written from the inspiration of the scriptures

to help you relax,

release the worries of the day,

and fall asleep.

Tonight, remove anything that might be a distraction and make yourself comfortable.

Pull the soft covers around you and rest your head on the pillow.

Take a few deep breaths and clear your mind

of any worries or concerns you might have.

Feel your body relax,

from head to toe,

and allow your breathing to become a soft,

steady, rhythm. Now, continue to rest peacefully as I pray over you. Holy God, thank you for your presence here tonight.

I pray for this listener to find peaceful rest in you.

Please help them let go of all worries that are circling around their mind.

Remind them that you have everything under control. There's nothing that you aren't aware of.

You know everything about them. Assure them of your love and kindness. Please, Lord, rain down your spirit on this beloved child tonight as a gentle rain

in spring. But the comforts of your love cascade over them with gentleness in peace.

Thank you, Father, for your presence.
