Happy Monday to everyone who invested in popcorn before Elon Musk started beefing with President

Trump on Twitter. We'll get to that a little bit later. But first, a developing story out of Los Angeles,

this weekend, President Donald

Trump ordered the National Guard to the city after chaotic protests broke out in response

to workplace immigration rates. Protesters held rocks at law enforcement, shot off fireworks,

blocked off major roads and city arteries. Police fired back with rubber bullets and tear gas

while ordering the protesters

to disperse. Trump's order declared that, quote, to the extent that the protests or acts of

violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against

the U.S. government. His argument was that he was saving the city, taking action that

Democratic leaders would not. Trump's order came over the objections of California governor Gavin Newsom,

who said sending in the National Guard was purposefully inflammatory. Newsom's position was basically

that Trump was engaging in political feeder that made a bad situation worse.

And today, Newsom said he would sue the Trump administration over the guard deployment.
