1 Samuel chapter 31, verse 4.

Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.

What a short, sobering verse at the end of 1st Samuel.

To think about where Saul started with such humility before God with being anointed the first king over Israel and having power prophesying in the power of the

spirit of God and being blessed by God.

And yet he begins to turn away from God and begins to trust in himself.

And pride takes over.

And so many other things happen as a result of that.

And we come to 1st Samuel 31. And the Bible tells us that Saul took his own sword and fell

upon it.

And this tragic, sad ending to Saul's life.

And there's so much here when we think about Saul, but specifically based on this verse.

I want to lead us to pray today that God would help you and me to finish well, to faithfully

walk with Him all the way to the end in this world as we look forward to seeing the face of

God and being with him for eternity that while we are here that we would walk humbly with him all the way. I don't know your age,

whether you are younger or older, but the reality is not one of us is guaranteed tomorrow.

And so we should all pray in light of the end that God would help us to be faithful until the last breath we breathe.

God, we pray for that in our lives right now.

I pray for that in my life.

I pray this over every single person listening right now.

God, we pray that you would help us to walk
