People often ask what is the difference between religion and spirituality.

In fact these days it's very popular for people to say I am not religious but I am spiritual. It's become a

catch-all phrase. So let's see what the essential difference between religion and spirituality could be.

Religion is frequently associated with dogma and ideology and also frequently associated with a

founder of religion or founders of religion, or founders of religion.

So Christianity is associated with Jesus Christ.

Judaism is associated with the prophets of the Old Testament and Moses, Abraham.

Buddhism of course is associated with the Buddha.

Many times Hinduism is associated with the incarnations of divinity called

Krishna and Ram and so on. So somebody long ago had a spiritual experience and then they

started telling people about it and other people thought that was an amazing experience.

They said how can we have it and so that was the birth of religion.
