Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

We have reached the end of the first week of our newfound freedom, ladies and gentlemen, and guess what?

We are all still here.

We have not experienced any shortages of food.

We haven't run out of aspirin or insulin, and our democracy appears to be entirely intact.

And before anyone starts bleating on about how we haven't actually left yet, just remember this.

We were told of impending doom and disaster if we voted to leave in 2016.

Economic collapse was predicted, if we invoked Article 50, we were warned that we would never recover if we signed a Brexit withdrawal bill. And of course,

they said it was the biggest gamble in the history of the world. Oh well, the weekend is looming

and we're not even talking about Brexit anymore. We've got far bigger fish to fry. Shemima

Begham is in the news, Philip Schofield is in the news. And of course, instead, we're going

to go back to the properly important issues of the day, such as the front page of the Times today in which it is revealed that the police of this country

have been rumbled by the general public, though their words, basically for their failure to do

their jobs properly.

Now, only this week, I've been praising the bravery and efficiency of the armed response

squads who shot a terrorist dead on the streets of South London.

But clearly, the rest of the force is not in such rude health.

We're going to find out why, and we're going to try to figure out what we can do about it

in the company of Dalbabbu, former superintendent of the Metropolitan Police.
