Hey everybody, Rob Mauer here. Welcome back to Tesla Daily. I hope everybody had a great

0:11.4

holiday weekend, at least here in the US and just perhaps a great normal weekend outside.

0:16.8

But today we are starting off Q3 after the Q2 delivery report. Of course we went through

0:20.9

that on Saturday. So today we're talking about Tesla's expansion plans here in Q3. We've

0:26.2

got a new report on gigabre lens plans. We've also got analyst reaction from that Q2 delivery

0:30.9

report. And Rowan associates, they are beginning their tear down of that 4680 model Y and a few

0:36.8

other items as well. Alright, so first up today we're going to start off with the stock. A nice

0:41.8

day today, Tesla up to 1.5%. I think mostly just following the macro with the NASDAQ also finishing

0:46.2

up 1.75% today. Tesla closing just below $700 per share. And right here while we're on the screen,

0:52.4

I did just want to address something that seemed to get a lot of headlines today. And that

0:56.2

was as we can see here there in the top of the news. BYD apparently surpassing Tesla to become

1:02.1

the top electric vehicle maker by sales. If you saw any headlines like that, they're not accurate.

1:07.3

That includes plug-in hybrid EVs. So if you want to count those, sure you can. BYD had delivered

1:14.0

about 641,000 in the first half of the year. About half of those were plug-in hybrid. So from a pure

1:18.8

battery battery electric perspective, BYD only at 324,000 so far this year. Whereas Tesla,

1:26.0

of course, at 565,000 through the first half. So just wanting to address that since it happened

1:30.7

to pop up here on our news feed on the stock. But just a couple other quick things from a macro

1:36.6

perspective and a stock perspective. First, we should get a few economic reports this week starting

1:41.6

off with tomorrow. We'll get the PMI for June. We'll also get the FMC meeting minutes from the June

1:47.2

meeting. And then of course the big one next week is going to be the CPI report that is scheduled

1:52.6

for Wednesday, June 13th or sorry July 13th for the June report. And that'll be before market

1:58.0

open by about an hour. So as we talked about when we got the June Fed meeting, press conference

...
