Summary

It's almost time for Round 17 of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship as the sport heads back to the streets of Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Joining Steph Wentworth on the Autosport Podcast is Stuart Codling and Haydn Cobb and together they discuss the big (Non-Newey) stories heading into the weekend. After Monza, McLaren team principal Andrea Stella gave the media his biggest hint yet that the team may start favouring Lando Norris in pursuit of both major titles. Will we see that in Baku? Charles Leclerc has always gone well at the track, with three straight pole-positons, but has played down his chances of back-to-back wins. Is he bluffing? There's also more on whether Red Bull can figure out the balance issues on their troublesome RB20, the return of Ollie Bearman and what to expect from his 2nd F1 start, and the latest on whether Alpine will drop their engine department and become a customer team for 2025. Look at this spectacular backdrop I have behind me rather than my usual broom cupboard. Here we are

in the offices in Stephen Street, which makes it the namesake of

1:13.9

the former Smiths and Blur record producer. This is about as much as I can tell you about Stephen

1:19.3

Street. It's not a very long place. I look forward to discovering it tomorrow as like my first

1:25.8

experience of it. Bring a coat, Hayden, because it's absolutely freezing in here despite Drey setting the

1:30.3

aircon to 24 degrees.

1:32.3

As you can see, yeah, yeah, my fingers have gone numb.

1:35.3

My brain's soon to join it.

1:37.3

I feel the cold often, so I'm going to, yeah, get thermals in if that's the case.

1:42.3

It's nice and pleasant here, no aircon required, but now I'm looking to, yeah, get thermals in, if that's the case. It's nice and pleasant here.
