The race is on, and with the Grand Prix season well underway, it's not long now

0:11.0

until you can play along yourself with the release of F1 2021, the latest edition of F1's

0:16.6

official game. I'm Ed Sture and joining me to reveal all about the new features that have been

0:20.9

announced, and Nathan Quinn and Val Haringi. Hi, Nathan, good to have you back. Of course,

0:26.2

you were here for our last podcast about what we wanted to see from F1-20201 and future

0:31.7

editions of the game, so in generally, you're happy with what we now know we're going to get?

0:36.0

It's interesting when you put it in that context, because of course, compared to all of the

0:40.4

things we wanted in F1 games, obviously F1 2021 is disappointing in that sense, but that was a,

0:46.2

that was very much a dream scenario we were fantasising about. No, I mean, F1 2021, having played

0:52.7

with the preview build a bit, it's definitely, and of course, having seen and knowing more details now about the breaking points, story mode and other things, I think it certainly, well, I think the great thing about the F1 games recently is they've all been gradual steps up and improvements on one another.

1:10.4

2017 was a bit best in 2016 and

1:12.5

2018 best in 17 and so on and so forth. And it does seem like F1 2021, no matter which way

1:19.9

you cut it, is going to be F12020 but another step forward. And breaking point, of course,

1:25.8

something totally new. And from what we've

1:27.5

seen, it does look, I think I actually mentioned in the previous podcast that, with regards to

1:34.3

story modes in games, you either do it well or don't bother. And breaking point, I think

1:40.5

it does look like it's going to be done quite well. So, you know, I'm very much excited for that. And the rest of the game is, as I said, 2020, but a step forward. So, yeah, I'm optimistic for F on 2021. Well, you've tantalised us with a bit of a mention of breaking point there, which we'll get on to in depth in a moment. But Val, obviously, I've just got to let you, as a Chelsea fan,

2:02.3

just have your brief moment to enjoy the Champions League final, because I don't think you're

2:05.8

going to want to talk about anything else until you've had at least five seconds to celebrate

2:09.1

that. Yeah, a brief moment has been going on for a good 48 hours now. It's going to continue

2:14.2

well into the week. It's just a wonderful. It's a wonderful feeling.

2:18.8

What video games? Who even cares? We don't even need anything else.
