And this week we are covering Ezra and Nehemiah in the Old Testament

to amazing little books of Scripture that never seem to get the attention they deserve.

Well, today we're going to give them that attention.

And I hope that it will help you see yourself in the story

because these books are incredibly applicable.

Believe it or not.

Now, to get into that history, though, let me tell you some personal history

to help set the stage.

And this story comes from my years as a young father.

My children were small, and often they'd ask me,

daddy, what do you do at work anyway?

I mean, they knew what mommy did at work,

because she work, work, work for them all day at home.

But me, I disappeared in the morning and reappeared in the evening,

and they were kind of wondering what I'd been up to in between.

Well, I could have just told them that daddy's a teacher.
