| 1:21.0 | Hey, hey, welcome to the next episode in this series that we are doing on navigating Unmet Expectations or in other words, embracing your almost, the almost achieved dream, the almost relationship, the would be happily ever after that hasn't quite worked out how you thought. |
| 1:37.0 | And today I want to talk through the feeling of being almost there. |
| 1:42.0 | And when I say that, what I mean is that feeling of like, man, there's so much that's worked out in my life that I'm so thankful for are things that are going well. |
| 1:51.0 | But if this one area over here that's been stubborn and frustrating and difficult, which is figure itself out, I would feel a lot more whole, complete, satisfied, happy with my life, fill in and blank, however you want to describe it. |
| 2:02.0 | And I think a lot of us can get caught up in that feeling of like, if I just hit this level in my career, if I just made this amount of revenue, if I just healed my skin, if I just had a family, if I just met my person, like if just that one thing would finally like work itself out, I would feel satisfied. |
| 2:19.0 | I would be happy. My life would be complete. And I think what's really hard is sometimes when we believe that it can feel like the finish line is moving because even when we do make progress, it never quite feels like enough, there's always another thing that we could, you know, |
| 2:31.0 | hope for as soon as you have a family, you want the house as soon as your skin heals, you want, you know, to feel better with pain in your body or whatever it may be. |
| 2:39.0 | So my point is like, it's not that those aren't worthy things to pursue desire or want. It's just that that feeling of like, gosh, I'm always almost where I want to be. |
| 2:49.0 | I'm doing all the right things. I'm doing everything I can to heal or everything I can to meet the right person, I'm putting myself out there, I'm doing everything I can to grow my business, I'm doing everything I can to fill in the blank. |
| 2:59.0 | And it's still not quite where I want to be. I've made progress. I've had some positive experiences, but man, like it just hasn't quite hand out how I thought it would by now or hasn't quite resolved the way I thought it would by now. |
| 3:11.0 | I just want to validate that you are not the only one feeling that way. And I think the biggest challenge with this feeling is that it can make us feel like we're behind or like we're not doing enough or like there's something wrong with us. |
