I'm Dave Anthony. Today, a senator-turned-author, John Kennedy, a Republican from Louisiana,

who's known for his deadpan one-liners and turn of phrase, witticisms that he's put

into a book just released the other day, how to test negative for stupid and why Washington

never will.

It's full of things like, if you trust government, you obviously failed history class,

and always be yourself unless you suck.

So we talked to Senator Kennedy about the book and a few other things,

including the government shutdown that still continues.

And the war in Gaza, since the rundown segment with him,

went out on October 7th,

the two-year anniversary of the Hamas terror attack that was posted days before Israel and Hamas agreed to the Trump-brokered ceasefire plan,

now in effect stopping the fighting and releasing the remaining hostages.

So you won't hear Kennedy reacting to that specifically.

Now, my conversation with the senator was too long to fit into that segment. We had to trim
