I'm Chris Foster. The California primary is less than a month away now. The top two candidates,

regardless of party, move on to the general election in November. Right now, the race is still

wide open, but Republican Steve Hilton has been consistently at or near the top of the polls and

what's a crowded field of mostly Democrats. Hilton, who was a senior advisor to UK Prime Minister David Cameron and a former

Fox News host and contributor, spoke with us on the Fox News rundown about his campaign and his

chances of being the first Republican governor of California since Arnold Schwarzenegger won in a special

election in 2003.

We talked about the issues he's been focused on, including the recovery effort following last year's fires in Southern California.

about a quarter of the voters say they're undecided if you believe the polls.

And you've been consistently in the top two going back weeks in these polls,

which is where you need to be.

Is everything going as hoped on your end at this point?

Well, this is the first time I've run for office.

And so they tell me that my attitude is exactly right, which is totally paranoid and anxious all the time.

And therefore, working harder and harder with every day. However, it is looking good. I've got to be honest.
