The deadly Hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean last month continues to keep people on edge worldwide. U.S. health officials are monitoring dozens of people across the country for symptoms. Eighteen of them were on the Dutch cruise ship and are being quarantined in health facilities in Omaha and Atlanta. When reports of the outbreak began, many were reminded of the 2020 pandemic, when COVID-19 caused worldwide lockdowns, economic turmoil, and millions of deaths. But while officials across the globe are concerned about the spread of hantavirus, most are confident this will not be a repeat of the crisis the world faced six years ago.
