0:57.3	I'm Professor of Biblical and Ridges Studies at Grove City College in western Pennsylvania.
1:02.7	Usually I'm here with my colleague, sidekick, straight man, Todd Pruitt, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. But today, he is
1:12.5	pursuing his solo career in some avenue or other, and therefore I'm going to be flying solo.
1:19.7	But it's not going to be a monologue. You're not going to have to listen to me talking about
1:23.6	how great I am for the next 30 minutes. We haven't to have a special guest. And to introduce
1:28.5	this guest, I want to tell you a little story and then ask our guest a question. I think it was
1:33.6	about 25 years ago when I was sitting in my office in the University of Aberdeen, a magnificent
1:39.0	medieval office next to the chapel. And the phone went. And I ended up talking to a young man whose career in the Church of Scotland had
1:49.1	just come to a crashing and dramatic end because of his bigoted and adamant refusal
1:56.0	to ordain women.
1:58.3	And this young man wisely had turned to me as obviously the sagest and wisest man in
2:05.2	Scotland for serious professional career advice. And I advised him to direct himself to the true
2:13.6	Presbyterian Church in Scotland, the Free Church of Scotland. And what can I say? I therefore take
2:22.0	a lot of credit for making him the man that he is today. So I need to introduce this man of
2:28.6	mystery. It is the Reverend David Strain, who is senior minister now of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi,
2:38.4	and author of a new book about which we want to talk today, Expository Preaching.
