What is Britain's role in one of the great crimes of our age? We've watched for over two years now a live stream genocide, as we're talking now, despite a so-called ceasefire, bonds continue to rain down on Gaza.

The brilliant Peter O'Born, a journalist I've got endless admiration for, has just done an incredible book, which everyone needs to go

and get, called Complicit Britain's role in the Destruction of Gaza.

And it really is, well, it's a masterclass in holding the powerful to account.

It goes through in a very rigorous way how various parts of the British establishment,

politics, media, and so on,

helped facilitate a genocide, the crime of crimes. It's such an important piece of work,

which I think will play a crucial role in what I keep referring to as the coming reckoning.

Peter, it's as an honour as ever to talk to you. How you did?

Well, it's a real pleasure to appear with and talk to you. Thank you very much for having me on.

Always. Let me just start. Some might go, well, Britain, does it really matter? You know, I mean,

the US is the hegemon, the superpower. Israel relies on the US more than anything. Does it really matter what

Britain does when it comes to Palestine? What do you say to that? I think it matters profoundly.

I mean, I'm very proud to be British and actually, as you know, I'm a sort of conservative

Brit, you know, and that's the tradition I come from.

And we have our own system of values which are independent of the United States.

We, and when we had an empire, a hundred years ago, we, our foreign secretary, former Prime Minister, A.J. Balfa, gave what is now Israel,

to the Israelis, a country which was lived in at the time almost completely by Palestinians.

And so we created a situation where,

and it wasn't at the time of,

it wasn't at a time of colonialism.

And so it was, I think,
