0:03.0	There have been complaints during recent years from a number of individuals that the
0:09.0	SCP community has devolved from its origins.
0:13.0	Rather than focusing on pithy, concise articles that convey horror through brief, mysterious articles,
0:20.0	they instead focus on writing longer and
0:22.4	longer articles about how bad the foundation is and how the world is coming to an end for the
0:27.7	umpteenth time. These thoughts are, of course, unfounded, but it's perhaps undeniable that the
0:34.7	original series of SCP articles will never be surpassed in the
0:38.8	public consciousness, regardless of how many more articles continue to be produced.
0:44.5	Classic con was an attempt to harken back to the old days of the SCP universe,
0:49.3	with a strict limit on word count and a focus on horror.
0:55.1	The contest proved to be immensely popular among authors, with 155 entries in total, so we'll
1:02.2	just be checking out a handful of them this time.
1:05.2	Let's take a look.
1:07.7	Let's start with SCP 8513, the corpse of Foundation researcher Luke Grayson, which is currently
1:14.8	undergoing a process of rejuvenation. Any attempts to slow or prevent this regeneration are
1:21.6	futile, as new damage to the corpse is impermanent. Grayson died after a fall from his apartment window on December 6th, 2029, before the Beetlejuice
1:32.8	supernova.
1:34.5	A novel form of radiation was detected worldwide by specialized foundation equipment during and
1:40.9	after this supernova, and Grayson's corpse emits high levels of this radiation.
1:47.0	The foundation has deployed sensors in population centers to determine the extent of 8513 contamination,
1:54.0	with these sensors showing high levels of emissions from the remains of every human who died before the event.
