nestled among the cobblestone streets and whispering canals,

lived two curious teenagers, Luca and Maria.

The year was 1595, a time which later became known as the Renaissance for the great flourishing

of science, mathematics, art, literature, and other ideas that swept through Europe.

Luca and Maria lived near the University of Padua, and after school went on walks to explore

the nearby canals, marketplace, and neighborhoods. After picking up apples at the marketplace,

they wandered into a nearby neighborhood. But unbeknownst to Luca, Maria was looking for one home in particular.

Do you know who lives here? Maria asked, pointing at a tall home on the corner of the street?

Not a clue, Luca said, taking a bite out of his apple.

He's a professor at the university. Okay. a I think I know where you're going with this, but I can't quite remember his name.
