Hey, what's up? Alex here. Welcome back to my podcast. Today we're talking about experiencing God's touch.

We're going to be in Matthew 8, 14 through 15. And it says, when Jesus arrived at Peter's house,

Peter's mother-in-law was in bed with a high fever. But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her,

and she got up and prepared a meal for them.

What's going on here?

We're going to look at why we need to experience God's touch, why we don't experience God's touch, and how to experience God's touch.

Right off the bat in 14 of chapter 8 of Matthew, we see the need to experience God's touch. And that is

restoration. Restoration. It's because without God, we have nothing. Look at Peter's mother-in-law

here. We already know she has no husband. She has no sons because back in that culture,

your husband and your sons would be your

roommates. That's who you would live with. So the fact that she's living with Peter, her son-in-law,

means she didn't have a son to take care of her after her husband died. And so she's alone. She has

nothing. Without God, we have nothing. That's a picture of us. Yet Jesus treats us like we are his everything.

Peter brings Jesus to his house and Jesus stops and he focuses attention on a woman. That was

unheard of. Back then, women were to be seen and not heard and barely even seen. They weren't, they were treated like

second class citizens. Jesus focuses his attention on this lady and shows her love. When most people

think and treat you like you're untouchable, Jesus reaches out to touch you. There's going to be

people in your life who think, oh, I wouldn't dare touch her.

I wouldn't touch her with a 50 foot pole. Some people's not, some people aren't going to like you.

Oh, that guy I don't like. I don't care for that guy. When you're treated as if you're untouchable

by the world, Jesus reaches out and he touches you. Jesus restores us back to whom we would have been had sin not entered our DNA.

So don't you see why we need to experience God's touch?
