We have mention of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and then we have the Lord saying in verse three,

I did not make myself known to them. And then he says in verse seven, you shall know that I am

Yahweh, your God. And so it might be that this is a structural feature where the Lord is saying, I did not make

myself known to the patriarchs in the way that I'm about to make myself known to you through

the Exodus.

how patient the

Lord was to Moses, even though Moses kept begging God to leave him alone. We ended, though, with

Moses and Aaron, making their first foray into Egypt where they met not with Pharaoh just yet,

but with the Israelites. And man, it ended on such a sweet scene. I mean, you can think of it, right? After 400 years of

toil and terror, they have heard that this man has come to save them. And he came not only with

words, but with miraculous signs. And we read in chapter 4 verse 31, the people believed. God had

seen their affliction, and so they bowed their heads and worship.

And so you get to the end of Exodus 4, and you're like, all right, let's get this show on the road.

It's not going to be long before Israel will be free.
