Summary

So god is super pissed at his chosen people for being so worthless, but they are in luck because they have Moses, who has the virtue of being completely ordinary. Persuaded by Moses' mundaneness, god is appeased and accepts them back into his life.

0:07.1	We are on chapter 33 of Exodus today.
0:12.4	So let's just get right into it, shall we?
0:16.2	And the Lord said unto Moses, depart and go up hence thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swear unto Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob, saying unto thy seed will I give it.
0:32.0	And I will send an angel before thee, and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the
0:38.0	Parasite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, for I will
0:45.4	not go up in the midst of thee, for thou art a stiff-necked people, lest I consume thee in the
0:52.7	way. So if the Lord were to go with the people, at this point consume thee in the way.
0:57.3	So if the Lord were to go with the people at this point,
0:59.6	apparently he would kill them because he's so mad.
1:02.2	Because they're stiff-necked.
1:06.3	Sounds really all-powerful and timeless-like.
1:10.9	Sounds just like an all-powerful, timeless, umnicious, umnipotent God.
1:13.2	Oh, no, wait, no, it doesn't.
1:15.2	Sounds totally contradictory.
1:22.6	And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned, and no man did put on him his ornaments.
1:29.3	For the Lord had said unto Moses, say unto the children of Israel, ye are a stiff-necked people.
1:33.7	I will not come up into the midst of thee in a moment and consume thee.
1:39.7	Therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee that I may know what to do under thee.
1:42.5	I love the sound of that one too.
1:46.9	The Lord said unto Moses, say unto the people of Israel, ye are stiff-knaked people.
1:48.6	So he's like, hey, Moses.
