Okay, now we'll go ahead and get started.

And when we get started, as already said, we'll be picking up in Exodus chapter 21, verse 12.

So by way of ketchup, ketchup is a little easier when we're not in a narrative section,

because I don't really have to go through it all again, really at all, even in brief.

We're in a section now where what might be called legislation,

but that's kind of misleading because of how we think about

laws working. But we're in a section here in Exodus where we've just gotten past the 10

commandments that as we talked about, there was sort of a summary. And we're now in a section where some of those commandments are getting broken down in more detail.

Right.

So where we're picking up tonight, for example, has to do with not murdering.

Right.

And we may say, thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not kill,

thou shalt not commit manslaughter.

However you want to translate, that's pretty clear.

But if you stop and think about it for a minute,

there are people who have a lot of questions about that. Like self-referial. think about it for a minute.

There are people who have a lot of questions about that.

Like self-defense, like wars, like, right?

So really simple, clear-cut rules are great.
