Okay, chapter 19.

In the third month after the children of Israel departed from the land of Egypt,

on the same day, they came into the Sinai Desert.

For they departed from Refidim, came into the Sinai Desert, and camped in the desert.

So Israel camped there before the mountain.

So they've now gotten to Sinai.

They're now camped at the base of the mountain.

Then Moses went up to the mountain of God, and God called to him from the mountain,

saying, thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the children of Israel,

you have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I bore you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself.

Now, let me be clear. This is not literal.

This is not Lord of the Rings.

Eagles did not come and pick them up and carry them out.

That's not what this is saying.

This may be where Tolkien got the idea.
