Catherine Hamilton and Jigger Shaw, are not joining me this week. Yes, I am right in the

middle of writing a short book and I have totally isolated myself.

So far you're actually the only ones who I've let in my presence.

You'll hear much more about that book project in a future episode, but for now I want to air some conversations

on solar that took place over the last week that I think are worth listening to.

So first up, last Friday, Jigger appeared on MS NBC to talk with Chris Hayes about what else?

Our favorite topic, solar net metering.

That's right, national reporters and pundits outside of traditional clean tech journalism are picking up on political

battles over solar.

It appears the industry is finally being perceived as a real threat.

So here's Jigger's interview with Chris Hayes.

If you don't know Hayes, he's a very liberal guy.

So you'll hear that in the way the story is framed.

We all know how much conservatives, particularly red state conservatives and state

House legislatures hate taxes.

So you might be surprised to learn of a tax bill that sailed through the

Oklahoma State legislature.

It passed by a 83 to 5 margin in the House with no debate, 63 Republicans and 20 Democratic votes in favor,

it's expected to be signed by Republican Governor Mary Fallon.

And it taxes something that Republicans tend not to like very much.
