the first listener says, how likely is it that there will be a federal ban or partial ban on

abortion in the United States? I think it is significant possibility, but given the current

makeup of Congress, I think a full federal ban, I think it will have trouble passing Congress.

But, you know, we already live in a nation where

huge swathes of the country live under effective full abortion bans and where even if there is not

a legislated total ban or near total ban, there's just simply no access to abortion. And, you know,

in those red states, increasing

criminalisation such that even seeking abortion care elsewhere is ever more difficult. So a little

bit like when the Supreme Court ruled in the Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Of course,

this was a, was a huge blow.

But at the same time, it happened at a moment

where many millions of people

could not access abortion in the United States already.
