Welcome to our Tuesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth. Today is my third and final

week to be teaching on what I've called excellence, a spirit of excellence. And I've been taking this teaching from the book of Daniel,

focusing primarily on Daniel and his three friends Shadrack, Meeschak, and

Abedniko. And there are twice here in the book of Daniels and Daniel chapter 5 and chapter 6

that it talks about the reason that Daniel and his three friends were

promoted was because they had an excellent spirit.

And so I've been talking about what that is.

We talked about that they refused to give up their identity.

They were Jews that were taken captive. They were put in a foreign city where the you know the governing the

Babylonians are the ones that killed their family, killed their friends, they made them eunuchs.

Man, it would have been easy for these people to just to give up and say my life is over, what's the point?

And yet they had an excellent spirit. They refused to compromise their Jewish

beliefs and just eat the defiled meat that the Babylonians were wanting them to.

They stood, they kept their identity. They refused to compromise. to

bow the need they told the king says we aren't even careful to answer you we

aren't worried about our answer to you.
