Was that the first murder you witnessed last?

It was the second victim of a shootout that I saw.

The first one was even more horrible. What was the first one? I was like 17. I ended up being arrested 18 times. I had seven indictments. I had two federal racketeering cases. Most people who watch my movies and see it. What was that actually like? There's kind of a separation of people in that life. Two categories. You had the gangsters and you had

the racketeers. The racketeers were the guys that knew how to use that life and make money. So I was in that category. One of the things I tell people, you want to be successful in life, be a good listener. You speak off the cuff and you don't know what you're talking about. It could put you in trouble. In solitary confinement. What was that like? 20 months and seven days. That's when you turn to God, and you have no options.

In retrospect, putting me in solitary saved my life. I looked at that cement ceiling and I said, hey, if you're really up to do something, help me. I can't deal with this. What happens next? And Omar, I swear to you, I'm just holding the book. I didn't even know where to begin.
