Summary

In today's episode, Emily talks about going through hard moments in life and asks what is something you would go back and tell your younger self? What was a good learning situation that you can remember that helped shaped your life? What is it that you want to look back on in your life when you're older? You don't have to carry the bad things along with you into your future. You can let go of them and fully live in the moment today. Don't sabotage your future by bringing your past baggage along for the ride. Each day is a new opportunity to start a new life.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Evolve with Emily Show. I am your host, Emily Hayden,

0:19.0

and you are listening to another Monday message. Every single

0:22.4

Monday, I bring a message of the day to you guys. So here's today's message. Self-love is not

0:28.8

self-sabotage. Self-love means doing the thing that is best for you, even when and especially

0:35.4

when it's hard in the moment. You are not in control of what happens to you

0:40.3

in life, but you are in control of how you respond. So I want to ask you guys right now, how do you

0:46.3

operate when things go not as planned, when things are less than ideal and when your whole

0:52.0

world gets turned upside down because that will show you

0:55.6

a true measure of where you're actually at in life. Anyone can do things when things are going well,

How do you operate when things are less than ideal, when things go

1:12.4

completely just on the wrong path of not what you planned for the day? How do you operate in those

1:17.9

moments? Because that will show you everything about where you're actually at in life. So if you

1:24.1

look at that and you look at your responses in life and realize that you're not proud of it

1:28.0

and you don't like what you see, then that's okay. Change it. This is your challenge. The challenge is

1:34.8

not doing everything that you're supposed to do on a good day. That's not a challenge. That's actually

1:39.2

the bare minimum requirement. So so often people are so quick to give themselves a green checkmark and say, wow,

1:46.5

great job on a normal day for doing the bare minimum of what I'm supposed to do anyways. And then on

1:51.5

the bad days, they're so quick to give themselves a free pass. Well, it's a bad day. So like,

1:55.3

I definitely don't have to do this or they can kind of just let things slide. When that's total

2:00.2

backwards thinking when you

2:02.1

have a bad day that is the challenge it's not a challenge to do things on to do all the
