Summary

Today we're going to dive into the method of thinking that categorizes everything into right or wrong, living from a place of judgment and how that judgment first and foremost starts with yourself. See, the truth is the way that you treat yourself is often how you're going to treat other people. So I don't know who needed to hear that, who needed to know that mistake you just made this morning, yesterday, this past weekend, earlier, whatever "wrong decision" that you felt you've made I am here to tell you that you're not unworthy, you're not a failure, you're not bad, you're not defective, you're not a loser, you're not any of those things.  But... certain things MUST evolve.

There is no experience you've had or so-called mistake that you've ever made or will ever make that justifies your judging yourself as bad, wrong, unworthy, a failure, defective, or any word that you would

0:24.0

choose to use. What's up, everybody? My name is Emily Hayden, and you are listening to the Evolve

with Emily show. And today we're going to dive into this method of thinking that categorizes everything

0:35.5

into right or wrong and a method of living from a place

0:40.2

of judgment. And that judgment first and foremost starts with yourself. And we see that translated

0:46.8

from yourself to other people because the truth is the way that you treat yourself is often how

0:52.5

you're going to treat other people.

0:56.8

So I don't know who needed to hear that.

1:03.5

Who needed to know that whatever mistake you just made this morning yesterday, this past weekend, earlier,

1:09.0

whatever wrong decision that you felt you've made, you were not unworthy, you're not a failure,

1:13.9

you're not bad, you're not defective, you're not a loser. You're not any of those things. We have grown up in a society and in a world where a lot of us have been ingrained from the get-go on such

1:21.4

black and white, this is right and this is wrong. And for people especially that seek to live their lives in the best

1:29.4

possible way, that can create a lot of stress and anxiety around things like making decisions

1:35.6

for themselves because you're always constantly trying to put it into a box. Does this fit the right

1:41.3

box or does this go in the wrong box? Is this going to be a good decision for myself or is this going to be the wrong option to make? And sometimes that can create kind of like a little standoff where all of a sudden now you're not making any decision because you don't know what the quote unquote right or wrong thing is. And maybe you're also somebody who, because you're so scared

2:02.7

of making the quote unquote wrong decision, you go to everybody else for advice. You're looking

2:08.2

for the answer from everything and everyone else. You're on Instagram looking for quotes that

2:14.4

fit how you're feeling to justify a decision that you want to make. You know,

2:19.0

you're in a relationship you don't want to be in. All of a sudden, you're finding quotes that are like,

2:22.8

if, you know, the man doesn't treat your time as valuable and treat you as worthy, then you leave

2:26.8

that situation and you're like screenshoting, saving for later. Should I post it to my story? No,

2:31.4

that's too up front. They'll know it's about them. You know,
