Summary
What happens after the goal is achieved? What do we do once we have crossed the finish line and all of the day-in, day-out consistent hard work that got us there may no longer be necessary? The process of self-improvement is continual, our goals should merely serve as benchmarks to guide us through life and onto the next challenge. This episode is here to add that "process over prize" perspective and help you treat your journey with as much respect as the goal.Ā

| 0:00.0 | Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Evolve with Emily Show. I'm your host, Emily Hayden. |
| 0:19.0 | In today's episode, I want to give you an update with where I'm at. I am currently at my sister's place in Houston, Texas, in her closet, full of baby stuff around me. There's like baby clothes around here. She has the sweetest, cutest, cutest little girl named Eva. If you guys don't know, I come from a really big family. I have six siblings total. One of them has six of her own. Another has three. Elizabeth. This one has one. And just it's a growing family, you guys. It's a lot of people. So I actually just took the trip to Texas yesterday. We just took our family photos. And we haven't had all of us together in the same place |
| 0:55.1 | in quite a while. |
| 0:56.1 | So it's kind of a big deal that we got a family photo. |
| 0:58.8 | So amidst doing all this YouTube and my prep and my diet and all this stuff going on, |
| 1:04.1 | you know, I'm a real person doing real life family things as well. |
| 1:07.4 | So it's always like the most fun, chaotic mess. We're all together because |
| 1:11.8 | there's like screaming children everywhere. We all have dogs. We bring them everywhere. Vinnie is having |
| 1:16.7 | the time of his life. I'm sure you guys are asking how Vinny's doing. He's doing great. But I wanted to |
| 1:22.2 | ask you guys, before we get started into today's episode, I want to ask you guys, I have a big ask. |
| 1:27.1 | I need everybody that listens to this podcast to do me a episode. I want to ask you guys, I have a big ask. I need everybody that |
| 1:28.3 | listens to this podcast to do me a favor. I need you to contact me in some way, either via DM on |
| 1:36.5 | Instagram or comment on my last photo. And I need you guys to give me some feedback, like some |
| 1:41.3 | realistic feedback, give me some ideas or suggestions of future |
| 1:45.4 | podcasts. Let me know maybe what you've liked about the current podcast that I have, or if you |
| 1:50.6 | have an idea for a type of series or something. One thing that I haven't loved about podcasting is the |
| 1:56.6 | fact that, for example, if I post a photo on Instagram, you guys can comment or you, like, send me a |
| 2:02.0 | DM right away, and I know what kind of reaction that post got. Whereas, you know, or when I do a |
| 2:08.1 | YouTube video, I post the video and, like, you know, I kind of have my own preconceived ideas about it, |
| 2:12.8 | but then when you guys start commenting, then I really see your feedback. And like, sometimes you guys will comment on things that I'm like, oh, I didn't think that was that helpful or that important, |
| 2:20.9 | but obviously it is. So I'll make sure to include it next time. And with the podcast, it's kind of |
| 2:25.2 | like I don't get that direct feedback unless, you know, you guys message me on Instagram or |
