This book may be one of the most undervalued ever written, as it proposes an alternative interpretation of reality that Pirsig calls “The Metaphysics of Quality” (MOQ). According to MOQ, reality is not made up of substance, but rather it is composed of distinct patterns of value. In a Copernican-like revolution of perspective, MOQ sheds new light on age-old debates such as moral relativism, the nature of subject-object duality, good vs. evil, science vs. religion, the importance of freedom, and the primacy of action.

0:55.0	This is the obvious example here is the Soviet from each according to their ability to each according to their need, puts on this utopian moral camouflage and then perpetrates its opposite outcome.
1:06.0	And I can't help but sense that that very social dynamic that possessed Soviet Russia is the same
1:17.7	fucking thing that's possessing people today, right?
1:20.3	It's like, get your vaccine so grandma lives.
1:24.5	It's putting on this moral camouflaging and disguising itself,
1:28.6	praying on the compassion of people, actually.
1:31.4	So this natural sense we have to want to preserve our community and take care of one

1:36.9	they're praying on that base instinct to then perpetrate its opposite at scale.
1:48.6	And I, you know, it sounds maybe crazy, but I can't help. We know there's, we know that, and you probably experience this through your, I think through
1:54.6	plant medicine, you often directly experience this, that we're like embedded. We're one layer
1:59.8	and a lot of layers of dimensions.
