Okay, in this podcast we're going to continue our discussion of the existence of the soul.

I hope you caught the first one. In some ways, you'll probably need to listen to the one that's right before this in order to make any sense at all out of what we're talking about in this podcast.

We began by just talking about how important the foundation of dualism is to Christianity,

let's face it, if dualism is not true, if there are no unseen things, of all that is real is the material physical universe and

there are there's no soul there are no spiritual beings there is no spiritual

reality no unseen material non-physical reality.

Then everything that we really believe about the nature of God and the nature of the soul is not true.

And this is a foundation that would for the most part undermine

what we believe as Christians and much of the work that's being done in

science really is has the effect of doing just that if it was true and

so you'd be very careful when you read through the scientific journals and

we'll talk a little bit about that tonight in this second half of this discussion.

Just about, you know, has science really kind of made the idea of the soul ridiculous?

We really are looking at some evidences in these two podcasts for the existence of the soul, but we're not using science in order to do it.

Instead, we are using some philosophical reasoning, using our minds, using a law of logic called

the law of identity, which simply states that A is equal to A. If everything on one side

is equal, something on one side of an equal side is equal to the thing on the other side of the equal side, if we can say that these, the characteristics of these two things, the properties of these two things are identical are in every

way the same. So we're looking at the nature of the brain for example and the

nature of the mind, the nature of the body and the nature of the soul and
