I just recently am starting to be the custodian for my brother.

My brother is 65 years old.

I'm the custodian for all of his financial accounts.

Why?

He is intellectually challenged.

Oh, okay.

My mom used to be responsible for it and she handed over to me a couple months ago.

Okay.

He currently lives with somebody who used to be a friend and so he was paying $500 a month

for a one bedroom, one back.

They've since become a couple.

Um, so now he's still paying the $500, but he's not renting a separate room.

He's basically just sharing the house with this other lady.

And now that I've taken over the accounts, she's come to me and said that

she thinks that because they are a couple, my brother should pay for half of the major repairs

that are needed on the house. The house is in need of repair. So when I say like major repairs,

I'm talking about like renovating bathrooms and things like that.

So she owns the house?

She owns the house.

I don't know how much she owes on the house or if it's completely paid off or if she's still making a mortgage.
