We did very little.

Like what you see on the screen is just like so much of their effort and so much of them,

of our actors just being given a space to fully be themselves.

And I'm so proud of what they did because each one of them in some way surprises the audience

or takes what you think of them and just totally explodes it.

And that's like as a director,

like I think that's like one of the most,

that's one of the funest things you can do.

In today's episode, a Chinese-American woman tries to finish her taxes in Daniel Kwan and Daniel Shiner's sci-fi adventure, Everything Everywhere All at Once.

When struggling laundromat owner Evelyn Wang finds out that only she can save the multiverse,

she has swept into a dimension-spanning adventure as she explores the other lives she could have led.

In addition to Everything Everywhere All at Once, Mr. Kwan and Mr. Shinerd's directorial credits include the feature film, Swiss Army Man, and an episode of the series, Aquafina is Nora from Queens.

Following a recent screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, Mr. Kwan and Mr. Shinerd share insight into the making of Everything everything everywhere all at once with fellow director Destin Daniel Kretton.
